Moving Forward

Welcome to a bright new year of Kidz Matter Academy’s After School Program at J.W. Dobbs Elementary School.

We are pleased to announce that KMA has received the 21st CCLC grant for another exciting year  We have the distinguished opportunity to continue our after school program along with 2 other schools in the Atlanta Public Schools district.

This year will be another dynamic year, filled with unique educational experiences that will be provided to the students of J.W. Dobbs Elementary School, students from our surrounding area private schools, and parents & community members. Our focus will be to provide exceptional academic enrichment in Reading, Mathematics, and Science.

Our program will officially begin August 1st.  Students will be provided a nutritious snack, and they will have time designated to complete their assigned homework daily.  Our first two months will have character education and team building activities to build our students’ self-esteem, and will promote positive behaviors in a fun way.

Responding to Our Summative and Formative Program Evaluations

Each year, Kidz Matter Academy is evaluated by an external evaluator in order to find ways to make our program successful and beneficial to our students, parents, and community.

For the 2017-2018 Summative Evaluation, Ms. Chanceity Robinson, the External Evaluator for KMA suggested that suggested that KMA develop a strategy to review current student assessment data and determine where integration of remediation is needed in the after-school curricula.
Therefore, Kidz Matter Academy’s administrative staff has planned to facilitate professional development sessions in assessment data—how to read and  understand it - in order to provide students with innovative approaches to the discipline.
